An engineer of Greece has recently launched a mobile phone sim card for the devout Muslims, which will help them in their daily religious activities. Most Muslims of the world are lives in Asia and Africa continent. These are two continent in which number of mobile user is increasing very quickly. According to International Telecommunication Union statistics, half of the world's mobile phone related contract being signed currently in Asia. But most of the mobile phones used in Asia and Africa are not smartphone.

Yiannis Hatzopoulos an electrical engineer, who live in Greece at thessaloniki. His invented "Islamic Sim Card" which supported not only in Smartphone but also in old model mobile sets. "This sim card users will be able to determine the direction of Mecca in their mobile phone. This mobile will remind Muslims about the daily five times prayers via reminder alarm, even this mobile will mute at the time of prayer" said Yiannis Hatzopoulos.

Islamic religious related different features are not new in smartphone. There are many Islam related android application and IOS  application, but these are only available in latest  smartphone. But "Islamic Sim Card" will also make the 2nd and 3rd generation mobile phone Islam friendly. Beside that "Automatic Mute" feature is an unique feature that has made this "Islamic Sim Card" different from others.


Yiannis Hatzopoulos got the idea of "Islamic Sim Card" in 2009 when he was participating in Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. In that congress LG presented a mobile phone which had some special function for Muslims. From that mobile Yiannis Hatzopoulos got the idea of Islamic Sim Card. He thought that if the Islamic features is available then Muslims can have these Islamic features by using this sim card in any mobile phone.
